Episode 7: The Force Awakens

I was so hyped. The marketting, the setup, the storyline was so promising - it never came close to living up to the hype. Lost its way trying to get at the magic of the original trilogy.

Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith

Best star wars original of the century. Still nowhere close to the original trilogy though. Darth Vader/Anakin carried the movie on his shoulders.

Episode 6: Return of The Jedi

Could not live up to the heights reached by episode 4 and 5. The plot slowed down too much in the middle. Regardless, a good ending to the original trilogy.

Episode 4: A New Hope

What an introduction to the universe (or the galaxy far far away). World building at its finest. The space opera captured the imagination of sci fi nerds all across the globe and changed cinema forever. No notes.

Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back

A new hope soared. That's the problem with a great first installment, how do you live up to it? The already high stakes from episode 4 were raised even higher. Murphy's Law was at its strongest as everything that could go wrong went wrong. The sequel Episode 4 deserved.

Rogue One.

The most compelling stories from Star Wars are not of the Jedi and their Sith counterparts. It is of the common people suffering and rebelling against the empire. You actually get to witness the oppression of the Empire and the scale of the destruction that it wreaks. An amazing prequel to Episode 4 as it sets things into motion. It was always gonna be a tough task to make the transition into Episode 4 feel seamless, but Rogue One delivered.

Hands down the best piece of live action Star Wars content. All of Star Wars could be a prequel/sequel for all I care. The definitive story to come out of Star Wars. The plight of the rebellion is felt as the Empire cracks down on it. The biggest achievement of the show is the weight it adds on to the events of the original trilogy. The stakes have never been more real. One of the best TV shows in existence, imho.
